Elven Political Theory - Part 2
This work is explicit
Shanty was standing over the anvil, hammering away, when a figure cast a shadow over her workpiece. Looking up and seeing a familiar figure, she gave a playful little smile and asked, "How's my favourite wizard doing?"
"Doing good—! ish...", said Lilith.
"Good-ish? Go take a seat in the back, I'll be there in a couple minutes." said Shanty, giving a head tilt in the direction of the door, then resuming her work.
Once done, she took off her apron and grabbed a towel. She was wiping off her arms as she entered the room, to see Lilith holding a book with a bookmark in it.
"New book?" asked Shanty as she pulled her drenched shirt off, so she could continue towelling off.
The wizard had seen her glistening muscle plenty of times before, but she still blushed as she answered, "Yeah. It's probably by the author of 100 Summers at Empire, but not everyone is convinced."
The blacksmith looked at the book in her hand, which was barely a novella.
"An elf book that short? And I thought you said she usually took a couple decades to write a book?" asked Shanty, towel now over her shoulder.
"Yeah it's only been a couple of years but it's... it's... hard to explain." said Lilith, passing her the book, "Just read from the page I marked."
Intrigued, Shanty took the book, and read the title. A Winter in Bloom. As she started reading, intrigue turned to confusion, turned to anger, as she eventually blurted out "She didn't even change my name!"
Lilith didn't say anything, as she continued reading, and befuddlement eventually took anger's place, "I didn't do that!?!"
"I know."
"And do elves even like when you— What the fuck?!", shouted Shanty, closing the book.
"They do." said Lilith.
"This is.... Gods.... You think I can just get ahold of all the copies and burn 'em? We can't have elves walking around thinking this is how humans are!"
"I think it'd be hard. It's sold incredibly well." said the wizard, continuing on, even as she saw Shanty's face, "Critics have good things to say about the experimental short format, to go with the theme of living life in the moment."
"I only— I only did that to get her out of town before she got someone hurt or confused!"
"I know." said the wizard, before patting at the space next to her on the sofa. Shanty plopped down next her, then the wizard crawled into her lap, saying "I just thought I should let you know, since it sounded so familiar to what you told me."
"Thank you...", said Shanty wrapping her arms around the little wizard in her lap.
"Since I'm here, do you want to...?" asked the wizard, giving her hips a little wiggle.
"I don't think I'm going to be able to get hard for a fuckin' week after reading that!" said Shanty, gesturing vaguely at the book she'd thrown to the side.
"Well that's a lie." said Lilith, giving her hips another wiggle, "Because right now you're—"
Shanty gave Lilith a little squeeze, and then growled into her ear, "If you finish that sentence, I'm going to reenact that little scene, and I'm even gonna do the bits I didn't actually do."
Lilith let out a little squeak, then slowly turned her head back up to look at her, face bright red. "Promise?"
